As regular blog readers know, English Connection is situated in the lovely town of Vannes in Southern Brittany, France. I have already sent two "postcards" from Vannes to show you what the town looks like and to give you an idea of the sort of cultural activities which take place throughout the year.
Here are some more photos which I took as I wandered around the town during the "fête de la musique" on 21st June.
And here are some photos of the market and local shops.
Hope you are all having a lovely holiday, wherever you are.

Hello Everyone,
As promised, here is my second “Postcard from Vannes”.
Vannes is a lovely town to visit and really comes alive in the summer with all its music festivals. After a very rainy week, the sun finally came out. So here are some more photos which I took when I went for a walk around the town on Thursday 17th June 2010.

The Port

One of the old towers

The gardens & the ramparts

The old wash house

Part of the gothic cathedral
Various statues

Le petit train

And finally ...
My favourite “Salon de Thé” & place for lunch. (But I’m not going to tell you where it is – you must find it for yourself, if you come here!)

I'll send another postcard from Vannes soon, as there's lots more to see!

Hello from Vannes! niveau B1
Vannes (pronounced [van]) is a lovely medieval town on the Morbihan Golfe with about 55,000 inhabitants.
It is a place which welcomes thousands of tourists each year, who come to experience its charm and character.
There are narrow, cobbled streets lined with colourful half-timbered houses, interesting boutiques, plenty of bars and restaurants, a port full of yachts and sailing boats, ancient ramparts with gates & towers around the old town, beautiful gardens, an ancient wash-house and a gothic cathedral.
Here are some photos I took this week around the town.

Next week I’ll post some photos of the port, the market and the ramparts.
See you soon,
Love,
Bronwen x
